What a teacher receives

Everything in its place, for every age

A scheme of work you can open on Monday, and a guide that tells you why it works.

The year is planned

Every age band has a complete scheme of work: thirty-six weeks across three terms of twelve weeks.

A guide beside you

Each curriculum has an Educator’s Guide or guidebook that explains the why and the how.

One shared language

The Five Feelings, the three Zones and L.A.N.T.E.R.N. stay the same from the toddler room to secondary school.

Care for the teacher

The HeartWise Teacher, its Guidebook and its Workbook look after the adult who leads the room.

Your own heart first

The adult in the room is part of the lesson

Three books look after the teacher, and one gives the whole structure. Read them before you begin, or alongside week one.

Children will not remember everything you taught them. They will remember how you made them feel, and who you were when you were with them.

How to start

Three steps to week one

  1. 1

    Read your guide first

Start with The HeartWise Teacher Guidebook and the Educator’s Guide for your age band.

  2. 2

    Open term one

Look through the first twelve weeks of your curriculum and choose the week you will begin.

  3. 3

    Plan the year

Map the thirty-six weeks onto your own calendar in the planner and tick weeks off as you go.

Good to know

Honest answers

Do I have to teach all thirty-six weeks?
Each curriculum is a complete scheme of work in thirty-six weeks across three terms. How you fit it into your school’s calendar is up to you and your school, and the planner helps you map it.
Which books do I need for my class?
The curriculum for your age band and its Educator’s Guide are the core pair. The HeartWise Teacher Guidebook is the shared teaching backbone across bands.
Does the teenage material feel too young?
Each band is written for its age. For Brave Hearts, the Zones and L.A.N.T.E.R.N. remain, offered with respect and no cartoon framing.
Are there printable resources?
Yes, on the Resources page. Each one shows whether it can be downloaded. Complete books are never offered as downloads.
What if a child in my class is struggling?
HeartWise is an everyday classroom approach, not therapy. If you are worried about a child, follow your school’s safeguarding process and talk to a qualified professional. The Guidebook has a part called “When it is hard”.
